July 9, 2011 Race Recap

Congratulations to the 750+ racers who completed the first ever urban adventure race in Grand Rapids and one of the largest ever held in the Midwest.

These brave souls endured lung-sucking climbs and traverses, 1520 eggs launched from massive sling shots, mind-bending puzzles, blazing biking and red-hot running around downtown Grand Rapids, looking for hidden checkpoints marked on a map and completing some Amazing Race-like challenges along the way. The temperature reached 88 degrees but that did not deter the cool-as-a-cucumber two-person teams from pushing hard for four hours to complete the race, proving once again that West Michigan has “Grade AA” residents and competitors.
